First of all Merry X-mas!!! Secondly I wanted to bring you this update to let you know about the awesome review that Just Die! just received in the new issue of Maximum RocknRoll!!!!

"Here's a six-track EP of super energetic hardcore from that open-minded oasis in the Deep South known as Asheville. Geographically caught between the melodic emo capital of Gainesville, Florida, and the hardcore beatdown spots of the East Coast cities to the north, JUST DIE captures these two sounds in an impressive blend that really works. The band is tight, with killer guitar licks and great drumming, and the singer has an especially conspicuous, raspy voice that carries them one step above the pack of current hardcore sounds. Think of a slightly tougher STRIKE ANYWHERE or a slightly more emo version of CARRY ON, and you'll get the idea. I can see these dudes getting big." -BG, MAXIMUMROCKNROLL 320

Dec. 9, 2009

We are in the process of getting a new site and if our site situation seems a little chaotic that is because it is. It might take a while to build so hold on to your butts. In the near future you can expect a site that houses everything in mostly one location and has a webstore just like all of those fancy sites. For now just pick up a couple copies of our records for Xmas.

Also on the agenda is t-shirts. We are currently designing t-shirts, buttons, stickers, and possibly patches. Lastly, keep an eye on the webzine. I plan on updating it more often and adding interviews, show reviews, record reviews that don't make it in the zine. We don't have a twitter yet but you never know.

Dec. 3, 2009

Since we both seem to be so strapped for time right now, we'll use this blogspot to keep everyone updated on Self Aware. We've printed Issue 5 of the 'zine, and sold a few to both Hartbeat and Lunchbox, so either pick one up from them, or nab one from us at a show. Interviews with Touche Amore, Outlaw Order, Hawks, Stymie and Just Die! are included.

The Just Die! 7"s are in and both look and sound great. If you haven't picked this up yet, then make sure you do. You can pick it up from several of your favorite punk and hardcore distros or directly from our distro at a show or online. Thanks again to Derek & Dead End Recs. for their help with this release.

As for upcoming releases, we're still working on pressing Bandname's first demo on to 7", and we're still working with Sidetracked on the "Tyranny" CD. It's too early to really reveal any details, but their may be a super huge, awesome cassette coming some time this year. As soon as we confirm it, we'll give you all the details.

Remember if you need anything from us, contact us via Email: selfawarezine@gmail.com. Distros get in touch!
